To every parent, ahead of your family photography session,
You've been thinking about having a family photography session for a while, and now you've found us and booked your session.
We're feeling the love, because we know how important it is to capture this moment in time for your precious family.
But as excited as you are about it, we expect you to feel a little nervous about it too, especially if there are little children involved. We totally get it! Little kids can be so unpredictable, often in the cutest way possible.
But here's what we'd love you to know before we photograph your family;
Nothing your child can do will bother us
As parents of two small children, we've seen and experienced every emotion a child can have under the sun. Sometimes it's in the safety and security of our home, other times in VERY crowded spaces. If you know, you know, and no doubt you do! We're calm and patient, because that's what children need when they're feeling unsure or nervous.
YOU don't need to say sorry
Never ever. There's nothing to be sorry about! Every moment is special, even if it isn't neat and tidy perfection! We say, go with the flow and see where it takes us.... the best photography doesn't necessarily come from strict obedience, but from authenticity. And kids are superstars at being their true selves.
YOUR KIDS DON'T NEED TO BEHAVE
They just need to feel the comfort of being themselves. Yes, they will be asked to pose sometimes, but they will also have the opportunity to be their free, beautiful selves. We'll work with the kids and you to get comfortable so that all of you can shine and glow in your photos.
Be their lighthouse
This is really important as the photography team establishes trust with the children. If the adults involved are comfortable, chances are they will (in time) be too!
LOUD IS OK WITH US
We're used to it! Letting kids express themselves fully will help build trust and comfort so that those special moments can be captured. And besides, a little noise never hurt anyone.
The moment is the moment. Celebrate it.
Your family is already picture perfect. We're just here to capture it. Be yourselves, interact with one another as normal and enjoy the moment as it is. We'll guide you through it all, so that you have photography you will treasure for life.
