What is the best age for a Smash & Splash session?
The sweet spot for a cake smash photography session is at about one year old. This is the perfect age for children to be able to enjoy and participate in all of the elements of this session. They’re also old enough to be able to sit up unassisted and will fit nicely in our tiny bathtub for the splash session.
It’s why many people do a cake smash session to mark a first birthday celebration.
Can I book a Smash and Smash session if my child is older than one year old?
Of course! Kids can do cake smash session at any age. Often, older kids take part in the session with their younger siblings, which is lots of fun for everyone.
Depending on the age of your child, we may only be able to do a cake smash without the bubble bath to follow, as the bath tub is small and may not be suitable for an older child.
What do I bring to a Smash & Splash session?
Please bring an outfit that you would like your child photographed in for the family mini photo shoot, and an outfit for them to do the cake smash. This can be the same outfit, or two different outfits, that's totally up to you.
If there is anything you know is comforting for your child, feel free to bring that along. It might be a toy or some object that interests your child.
What dietary options do you offer for cakes?
The cakes we offer contain dairy and gluten. If you require a dairy for gluten free option, please let us know. You may wish to bring a cake you know your child likes and can eat, or alternatively, we can switch out the cake for fruit, like watermelon.

How long does a Smash & Splash session take?
The Smash & Splash session takes about 60 minutes in total. We start with a mini family photo shoot in a nearby location in walking distance, if you wish. Then, we come back to the studio and get messy with a cake smash session, followed by a warn bubble bath session to get cleaned up.
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
It's exciting for families to receive their Smash & Splash photography - it's exciting for us too! It usually takes us 1-2 weeks to edit and prepare them for your viewing, depending on the number of images taken.
We prioritise attention to detail over speed, so that you have images that you’re proud to show friends and family, and display.
Is there onsite parking available?
Yes, there is onsite parking available at the rear of the studio.
What payment methods do you offer?
We accept credit card, cash and electronic transfer payments.
Payment is usually made once you’ve viewed your photos and selected your package. Payment plans can be arranged on request.
