What is an Impression Photography Studio Smash & Splash session?
A Smash & Splash session is the ultimate in first birthday photography.
You choose one of our themed scenes, dress your child in a coordinating outfit and we’ll take care of the setup and cake.
The photography session starts with a family mini shoot, then moving into the messy cake smash fun, and then we finish up with a warm bubble bath to clean off all of that cakey mess. A fun and engaging 60-minute session, with memories captured to last a lifetime.
And the best part? You can leave all the fun mess for us to clean up!

You can expect an Impressions Photography Studio session to be warm, personal, relaxing and enjoyable. We believe the right vibe is everything when it comes to beautiful photography, and our goal is to make your session as fun and fuss-free as possible.
Our light filled studio in Adelaide's inner city suburb of Medindie is warm and inviting, and we’ve recently introduced a retreat lounge area for relaxing and viewing photography.
Smash & Splash sessions can get super messy, but rest assured we’re well prepared with bath products, towels and ammenities to comfortably go from messy to clean in no time.
We’ll help you plan the session
We’ll take the hard work out of planning the session, with a number of themes to choose from. Once we’ve confirmed your booking, we’ll send you an information pack with the options, and a questionnaire, where you make your Smash & Splash selection.
For an additional fee, we'll arrange a cake, unless you would prefer to bring your own. We use a very soft triple layer sponge cake and vanilla frosting in most cases – it’s best for little fingers and tastebuds!
Chat with us about any ideas you have for a custom theme, we’ll try out best to accommodate these requests and make your vision a reality. Our recommendation is to keep things simple – your child will guide the session with their curiosity and wonder, and our skilled photographers will be ready to capture all of the cute moments.
